Zonal Monitoring Team of NICRA visted KVK,Sonitpur                     Back





    A high level Zonal Monitoring Team of National Innovations of Climate Resilient Agriculture(NICRA) visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra(KVK),Sonitpur from 4th to 5th July,2018. The team visited the KVK, Sonitpur NICRA programme implemented main village Punioni –Baghchung and the successful intervention up scaling village Nagharia near Balipara and interacted with the farmers and farm women regarding the benefits derived out from the successful agricultural interventions up scaled through this Indian Council of Agricultural Research Project(ICAR) funded project implemented through Central Institute of Dry Land Agriculture(CRIDA),Hyderabad. The high level team under the Chairmanship of Dr. H.K. Senapati, Former Dean, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) ,Bhubeneswar also visited the different demonstration plots of both the villages and suggested some measures for effective implementation of the programme. The other committee members were Dr. S.K. Jadav, Principal Scientist, CRIDA, Hyderabad ,Dr. A.K. Tripathi, Director, ATARI, Zone VI, Guwahati and Dr. R.K. Saud, Associate Director of Extension Education, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. The head of KVK, Sonitpur Dr. Promod Ch Deka felicitated the team members and made an elaborate presentation of the programme since its implementation from 2011-12. The scientific staff of KVK, Sonitpur Mrs. Arifa Momtaz Begum,Dr. B.K. Neog ,Mrs. Angana Sarmah , Mr. Palash Thengal and Mrs. Sarmistha Borgohain accompanied the team during the field visit.
